First, some history. I grew up in Rourkela, Orissa, India. In 1994, I went to college to study metallurgical engineering. I remember the four year grind well as it was there I learnt a lot about life - its intricacies and inner workings. Soon enough after college I attended grad school for finance and information technology. In 2000, I worked on my first job as a business executive for an e-business company at the height of the dotcom craze. Soon enough I was a victim of the Great Dotcom Crash and was back looking for another job.
My second job was at the university where I did my masters. I was an IT manager for one of the university's research centers. All I had to do was manage an entire network of proprietary as well as open-source operating systems, hardware and application software apart from writing teaching notes for IT applications in business. I actually learnt computers and everything IT here. I had the freedom to experiment and learn from mistakes. I belive and still do that one learns the best not by reading but by experimenting and trying.
Although I had been bicycling since I was 7 for a full 15 years, I still love to pedal away whenever I get the opportunity. I hardly get any time nowadays with my sedentary computer job. Currently I am a SAP R/3 consultant. I write ABAP code and transitioning to become a functional consultant. This website is born out of my penchant to maintain an online presence as I share the dream that most Internet enthusiasts do... that someday the internet will play a major role in every walk of our lives. I also tweak Open Source web applications from Sourceforge and Freshmeat. My wife is the single most important person in my life as she made me realize my true potential and was the energy behind every major success in my life. She runs a successful HR solutions firm. On a more personal note, I love music, cooking, talking to smart people, bookstores, museums, reading Ludlum and Dan Brown and Tintin comics.
